Discover how TypeMission helps your children learn to touch type in a fun and affective way.
Course structure
The TypeMission learning method has been developed by Leidse Onderwijsinstellingen (LOI) in collaboration with gamification specialist Organiq. It is based on the principle of short, daily practice sessions rather than long, intensive study blocks, as consistent repetition helps knowledge stick more effectively.
The course runs over 20 weeks, with students practicing five days per week for approximately 10 to 15 minutes per day. If a session is missed, there is no issue, the programme can be completely fully at the student’s own pace.
During the first 11 weeks, students gradually learn to locate all letters on the keyboard without looking. From week 12 onward, previously learned letters are reinforced, and the focus shifts to increasing typing speed and fluency.
By the end of the 20-week programme, students are able to type accurately without looking at the keyboard, reaching a minimum speed of 120 characters per minute.
Class structure
A daily lesson with Miss J
With Miss J’s clear explanations, your children learns new letters on the keyboard every week. NOt only is it indicated which finger to use for each key, but attention is also given to the correct writing posture. The letters that are more difficult are repeated more frequently to learn them well.
Guided typing practice
After each lesson, your child completes writing exercises to practice the letters learned. The letters that are more difficult appear more frequently, ensuring they are mastered correctly.
Touch- typing games
Every day there is also time for typing games! through which your child will improve their skills in a fun way. There are many different games, all integrated into the spy story, which keep the student motivation high.
Engaging story
At SuperSpySchool, an exciting story unfolds: someone is trying to steal all the spies data. Your child will take part in action-packed missions, decode codes, and complete writing challenges. This way, typing skills will be practiced through play.
