The course

How it works?

Discover how TypeMission helps your children learn to touchtype in a fun and affective way.

Course structure

TypeMission was developed by Dutch education provider LOI in partnership with gamification specialist Organiq. It is built on a simple principle: short, consistent practice works better than long, intensive study sessions when it comes to developing lasting typing skills.

The programme runs over 20 weeks, with students practising for just 10 to 15 minutes a day, five days a week. It is flexible by design, so if a session is missed, students can simply continue at their own pace.

In the first 11 weeks, students learn to recognise the position of every letter on the keyboard and begin typing without looking down. From week 12 onwards, they consolidate those skills while developing greater speed, accuracy and fluency.

By the end of the programme, students can type confidently and accurately without looking at the keyboard, aiming for a minimum speed of 120 characters per minute.

Class structure

A daily lesson with Miss J

With Miss J’s clear and engaging guidance, children learn new letters on the keyboard each week. The lessons shows them which finger to use for each key, while also encouraging good typing posture from the start.

Guided typing practice

After each lesson, your child completes typing exercises to practise the letters covered. Letters that are more difficult are repeated more frequently, helping your child master them accurately and with confidence.

Touch- typing games

Each day, children also spend time on typing games, allowing them to develop their skills in a fun and motivating way. A wide range of games is built into the spy storyline, helping to keep learners engaged and motivated throughout the game.

Engaging story

At SuperSpySchool, children step into an exciting spy adventure where someone is trying to steal the spies’ data. They take on action-packed missions, crack secret codes, and complete typing challenges along the way. It is a fun and engaging way to develop typing skills through play.

Motivating rewards

As children complete exercises, games and missions, they earn points along the way. These points can be spent in the Spy School shop on items such as clothes, accessories and posters, making progress feel even more rewarding and motivating.

Weekly closing and final diploma

At the end of each week, students complete a fun, low-pressure quiz to track their progress. After the final quiz, your child is awarded an official typing diploma.
